Cajun Dirty Rice Recipe
This year we are focusing on being frugal. Our goal for the year is to save up as much as we can by living frugally and saving as much as we can.Â
That’s why I’ve challenged myself to create more budget recipes in the next few months. In doing so, I’m telling you now that I won’t compromise two things: flavour and nutrition. Â Life’s too short to eat bad food. I like my recipes to taste good and to be nutritious, with a few lovely treats in between.
Cajun Dirty Rice
Dirty rice is a traditional Louisiana Creole dish made from white rice, which gets its signature look from being cooked with small pieces of meat or ground meat, finely chopped vegetables and spiced with cayenne and black pepper.Â
This recipe is equally delicious with authentic chicken pieces and plant-based chicken, but it’s also great to use mince for this recipe. My homemade Cajun seasoning mix gives the dish a good kick, too.
